Hey bounce fans! 🐯 Tyler here — and today we’re diving into something every party pro should know: Bounce House History.

Yep, these inflatable wonders have been around since 1959, and trust me, their story is almost as wild as the parties they host.

The Beginning (1959) The first bounce house was created by John Scurlock, an engineer from Louisiana. He invented it by accident while working with inflatable covers for tennis courts. Lucky for us, he had kids who loved jumping on them — and boom, the first bounce house was born.

1980s – Bounce Houses Go Commercial As the bounce house history grew, companies started renting them for birthdays and community events. Designs became safer, with sidewalls and more durable materials.

1990s – Themes and Bigger Designs By the 90s, bounce houses had castles, slides, and even combo units. The industry exploded across the U.S., especially here in Florida.

2000s – Water Slides and Obstacle Courses The new era of inflatables began. Water slides, giant obstacle courses, and themed inflatables became the stars of school events, birthdays, and corporate parties.
