01 October 2026 - No School Days in Palm Beach County: Party Ideas for Oct. 12, Nov. 3 and Thanksgiving Week

When school is out, the easiest party is a short, active one: a morning or afternoon at a park or backyard with a few big games, shade and snacks. Palm Beach County students have no school on Oct. 12 and Nov. 3 (teacher work days) and all of Thanksgiving week, Nov. 23 to 27. That gives you real dates to plan around.

Why a Day-Off Party Works

Parents are scrambling on these days. Kids are bored by 10 a.m. A planned party gives them something to look forward to, and it gives you a plan instead of a long day of "I'm bored."

You also do not need a big guest list. A group of 10 to 25 kids from a neighborhood, class or team is plenty. Invite a few families, set up two or three games, and let the kids run.

Pick One Main Event and Two Small Games

Choose one big attraction that fills most of the space. Then add small games that need little setup.

  • Water games. South Florida stays warm in October and early November, so water play still works. Crazy Water Tag lets kids chase and tag each other with water-game gear, and the long Slip N Slide is a crowd favorite.
  • Team games. Tug-of-war, relay races and three-legged races need only a flat open space and a few cones. They are great for mixed ages.
  • Something to eat. A popcorn or cotton candy machine gives kids something to do while the next group plays.

Ask us which items fit your space and group size when you call.

Where to Hold It

  • Backyard: Measure first. A long slide or relay lane needs a clear straight strip of grass.
  • Park pavilion: Many county and city parks need a permit or reservation for groups. Call the park office before you book anything.
  • School field or church lawn: Get written permission from the property owner.

A Simple Two-Hour Schedule

  1. First 15 minutes: Kids arrive, grab water, hit the snack table.
  2. Next 45 minutes: Main event. Split kids into two groups so nobody waits long.
  3. Next 30 minutes: Relay races or tug-of-war.
  4. Last 30 minutes: Free play, snacks, pickup.

Keep a shade tent, extra towels and a full water cooler on hand. October and November afternoons in South Florida can still be hot.

Plan Around the Weather

Check the forecast the day before. Afternoon storms can pop up fast in South Florida. Pick a morning start time when you can, and keep a backup plan such as a covered pavilion.

Book Early on Short Weeks

Days off school fill up first, and Thanksgiving week is short. Reserve a few weeks ahead so you get the items you want.

No-School Day Party FAQ

How many kids should I invite for a no-school day party?

Between 10 and 25 works well for most backyards and park spots. More kids need more games so lines stay short.

Is a party on a teacher work day too last-minute?

Not if you plan now. Oct. 12 and Nov. 3 are already on the calendar, so you can book early.

Can we do water games in November in South Florida?

Usually yes, because the weather stays warm. Pick a midday start and bring towels.

Do I need a permit at a park?

Many parks require a reservation or permit for groups. Call the park office to check before you plan.

Do you deliver and set up?

Yes, we deliver, set up and pick up. Our minimum order is $350 with delivery included.

Ready to plan your day-off party? Book online or call 877-963-8368 and tell us your date, location and number of kids. We will help you pick games that fit.
