Palm Beach County public schools are out for winter break from Monday, December 21, 2026 through Friday, January 1, 2027. That's 12 days at home, so plan a few outings and one big game day for the kids, the cousins or the whole street. Below are the official dates, local things to do that already have 2026 dates, and an easy plan for hosting your own game day.

Palm Beach County winter break 2026: the dates

The School District of Palm Beach County's 2026-2027 Key Dates list:

• Thanksgiving break: Monday, November 23 to Friday, November 27, 2026 (no school).
• Winter break: Monday, December 21, 2026 to Friday, January 1, 2027 (no school).
• Back to class: the first week of January. Check your own school's calendar for the exact day.

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve fall inside the break, so the best days for a party are usually December 21–23 and December 26–31.

Things to do in Palm Beach County over winter break

These all have 2026 dates on their own websites (checked November 4, 2026). Hours and prices can change, so check the link before you go.

• Zoo Lights at the Palm Beach Zoo: select nights from November 20, 2026 to January 3, 2027. The tree show starts every 20 minutes, and photos with Santa and ornament decorating are included. Tickets are sold online at palmbeachzoo.org.
• Lights 4 Hope drive-through at Okeeheelee Park: the tentative 2026 schedule opens November 27 and runs every night December 18–23, closed December 24, then open December 25–27 (weather permitting). It costs $25 per car for up to 8 people.

Why a game day beats another screen day

By day four of break, most kids have watched everything. A game day gets them outside and moving, and it gives you one easy day where the fun runs itself. It works for:

• Families and cousins who are all in town for the holidays.
• HOAs and neighborhoods that want one big afternoon on the common lawn. Our HOA holiday block party guide covers permits and space.
• Churches, rec centers and day camps running winter break programs that need a big activity day.

Games that work for a winter break game day

All of these are Crazy Games FL's own games. Prices are from our website on November 4, 2026.

• Holiday Party Pack ($1,300): the Player One bounce house, Reindeer Hop Race, Giant Ornament & Spoon Race, a popcorn machine (50 servings) and a cotton candy machine (50 servings). Our crew delivers, sets up and picks up. It's 3 hours for 25–50 guests.
• Crazy Holiday Fest ($1,500): Snowball Fight, Candy Cane Run, Milk & Cookie Toss, popcorn and cotton candy (50 each) and a 1-hour visit from our Christmas Elf (we confirm the Elf is free on your date when you book). One Game Master runs it all for 3 hours, for 50–100 guests.
• Hamster Wheels (from $349): kids climb inside and roll across the grass. They work great for races.
• 4 in 1 Sports Challenge (from $349): soccer, basketball, football and baseball in one inflatable.
• Snowball Fight (from $349): soft snowballs, so it also works in a gym or fellowship hall.
• Player One bounce house (from $449): a video game bounce house with a slide.

Both holiday packs can be booked until December 23 for parties through December 31. We only have one of each pack, so it's one holiday pack per day, first come, first served. Just say "Holiday Pack" when you book. Not sure which to pick? Read Holiday Party Pack or build your own.

Your winter break game day in 5 steps

1. Pick the day early. December 21–23 and 26–30 go first, and holiday packs are one per day.
2. Count your guests. 25–50 guests fits the Holiday Party Pack, and 50–100 fits the Crazy Holiday Fest.
3. Choose the spot. A backyard, HOA lawn, church field or gym all work. A park needs a pavilion permit first. See which Palm Beach County parks allow bounce houses.
4. Check for power. We need an outlet near the setup. If there isn't one, add our generator ($175).
5. Have a rain plan. December is usually dry here, but games like Snowball Fight and the ornament race move indoors easily.
